Sierra Chart Risk Management

In my humble opinion Sierra Chart is the most powerful trading platform that offers a wide range of features for traders of all levels. One of the most important features of Sierra Chart is its server side risk management capabilities. These capabilities allow traders to set up rules that will automatically close their positions if they reach certain risk thresholds. This can help to protect traders from large losses and keep their trading accounts from blowing up.

For me, this is a game changer. Once enabled you are locked out of your account until the next trading day. For example, if you set your maximum daily loss to $500, once you lose that 500 bucks all trades will be flattened and you will be locked out till the next session.

There is also a setting for profit targets that has a profit protector feature. In this case, If you set your profit target to $1000 – you can also set a floor of $800. You can still trade after you reach 1000+ but if you drop down to $800 your trades are flattened and you are locked out! This is really helpful for those trailing drawdown evaluation/funded accounts.
