I’m back! Some of you may know I used to write on my old blog, The Matador Trader. But due to some technical issues, I lost access and all the hard work I had put into it over the years. At first, I was extremely discouraged to essentially be starting over from scratch. However, after taking some time to regroup, I’ve realized this is an opportunity to start fresh and improve upon my previous blog.
What Happened to My Old Blog:
I had been writing on The Matador Trader for over 3 years. It was hosted on a shared server and one day I simply could not log in anymore. After contacting support, it seems there was some server error that corrupted my account and backup. All my posts, theme customization, plugins, and images were gone. I tried various methods to recover it with no luck. I know I should have kept more regular backups, but hindsight is 20/20.
Why I’m Not Giving Up:
Losing years of work is incredibly disheartening. Part of me wanted to just forget blogging altogether. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized starting fresh could be a blessing in disguise. I can apply everything I learned from my previous blog to improve this one. I won’t repeat the same mistakes and can start completely new content. While the technical side of setting up a new blog is tedious, I’m choosing to see this as an exciting new chapter.
Losing my old blog was a temporary setback. But I’m viewing its end as an opportunity for something better. Thank you to my previous readers who are coming along on this new journey with me! I appreciate your support now more than ever. To any new readers – welcome! I can’t wait to get to know you.
